From the Pastor's Desk - Fr. Joe - Bulletin of May 12, 2024: Today, "...Wednesday, May 15, 2024 is the Memorial of Saint Isidore the Farmer. If you think of it, call or text Father Isidore and wish him a happy feast day! There are at least nine saints named Isidore. Not surprisingly, Saint Isidore the Farmer is the patron saint of farmers. He was born in Madrid, Spain to a poor family, and he was a devout miracle worker and defender of the poor and sick. He married a young woman as simple and upright as himself who also became a saint. His wife’s name was Maria de la Cabeza. They had one son who died as a child. All day long, as a farmer, he walked behind the plow, and he prayed to God. His religious devotion almost became a problem as some of his fellow workers complained that Isidore often showed up late because of lingering in church too long. Saint Isidore died on May 15th in the year 1130. He was declared a saint in 1622."
