SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI PET BLESSING: The Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi is Friday, October 4th. There will be a blessing of the pets in the Saint Mary’s parking lot on Saturday, October 5th at 12:00 p.m. All pets are welcome, and the blessing will take place rain or shine!

Father Dennis Mrosso will travel to Tanzania to visit his family. Last summer his mother turned 100 years old! He will be away until October 6th. We pray that he has safe travel and an enjoyable time visiting his family. There will be a variety of priests filling in for Father Mrosso at the 4:00 p.m. Vigil Mass while he is gone. Many of the priests in this area will help fill in as chaplain of Marymount Hospital - walking the floors, administering Anointing of the Sick, and giving Communion to many of the Catholic patients.

ANNUAL WALK TO REMEMBER On October 6th, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., the Catholic Cemeteries Association invites families to participate in a half-mile walking Rosary in honor of our departed loved ones. This walk will take place at all the Catholic Cemeteries around our area. We walk, we pray, we sing, and we remember. For those who cannot walk, or in case of rain, the Rosary will be prayed in the mausoleum or in the cemetery office. At the end of the Rosary, there is a brief candle lighting ceremony in remembrance of our dearly departed. Whether walking or not, you can also honor your departed loved ones on our “In Remembrance” Wall. Submit names by September 30th to be included for the month of October. This collection is sponsored by the Diocesan St. Vincent de Paul Society. We accept your financial donations only—we will do the shopping! October 12th & 13th, is Blanket Sunday, sponsored by the Diocesan St. Vincent de Paul Society. When you make a financial donation, your money will go even further through bulk purchases of blankets and other items for the homeless and poor individuals in our own metropolitan area. This weekend, Blanket Sunday envelopes will be available at the doors of the church for this weekend’s collection. Please make your check out to St. Vincent de Paul Society and drop it in the collection basket. You may also donate online at www.svdpcle.org. Please “blanket” someone for the winter.
